Module 6 [Optional]: Negative Self Appraisal

Negative Self-Appraisal and Procrastination

In this module, we tackle the negative stories we tell ourselves about ourselves. Belief in ourselves and our abilities promotes success in graduate school, but many grad. students struggle with negative self-appraisal and imposter syndrome. We focus on the things we didn’t do well (or perfectly enough) and lose sight of our accomplishments.

The belief that you’re not good enough to overcome the next challenge causes distress and de-motivation. Challenging this belief is vital to managing this stress, reducing procrastination, and boosting productivity. So, if you think you don’t belong in grad. school or you’re not as good as other students, then you need this module.

However, if you have the confidence of a rock star or the faith to overcome any challenge grad. school throws at you, then skip this module and check out the next module: Procrastinator Identity. You can mark this module complete and advance to the next using the buttons at the bottom of the page.
